Eastchester received a tough blow as they fell 56-39 to Ardsley. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Eastchester in their matchups with Ardsley: they've now lost four in a row.
Leading Ardsley to victory were Madison Bortstein and Iva Corluka. Bortstein scored 17 points along with four steals, while Corluka dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Bortstein scored 15 or more points. Joie S levy was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Eastchester has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Ardsley, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastchester will take on Pelham Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pelham Memorial presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Eastchester in New York (Pelham Memorial is ranked 187th, while Eastchester is ranked 375th). As for Ardsley, they will be playing at home against Hastings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
