It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Falls City Beavers had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 35-0 win over Iola on the road. The win was familiar territory for Falls City who now have seven in a row.
Falls City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Braylon Johnson out in front who rushed for 199 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Moy, who rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Falls City's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Iola, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.
Falls City is on the road again on Thursday and play against Rocksprings at 7:00 p.m. on November 16th. Rocksprings is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Iola does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
