The Canfield Cardinals were the 53-45 winner over the Howland Tigers when they last played one another on January 10th, but their luck changed this time around. Canfield took a 58-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Howland on Saturday.
Alyssa Massucci continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Howland, scoring 20 points. Jessie DeSalvo was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Canfield's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7. As for Howland, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-4.
Canfield will head out on the road to take on Ursuline at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Ursuline will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 215th, while Canfield is ranked 71st). As for Howland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Austintown-Fitch at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Austintown-Fitch is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
