Anclote is 1-9 against River Ridge since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The two teams will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Anclote will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 498th, while River Ridge is ranked 40th).
Anclote suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Land O' Lakes, falling 63-9. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Anclote in their matchups with Land O' Lakes: they've now lost six in a row.
Meanwhile, River Ridge stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Gulf at home to the tune of 59-14. Winning may never get old, but River Ridge sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Anclote's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.6 points per game. As for River Ridge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.
