The Edina Hornets will venture away from home to challenge the Buffalo Bison at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are still undefeated after three games, but that won't be the case come Friday.
On Wednesday, Edina got the win against Maple Grove by a conclusive 13-2.
Ari Miller spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.
At the plate, Bode McConnell was incredible, firing off two home runs, four RBI, and one stolen base while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jackson McGrath, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Buffalo hadn't done well against Eden Prairie recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Bison never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory.
JAMESON STERN looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on WILL MIRIOVSKY, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. TYSON MOORE was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.
Edina's record is now 3-0. As for Buffalo, their record now sits at an identical 3-0.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Edina hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 2.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Buffalo struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Edina came up short against Buffalo in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, falling 4-1. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
