Softball Recap: Mineola Has No Trouble Against White Oak

After only one run in their last contest, Mineola made sure to put some runs up on the board against White Oak on Thursday. The Yellowjackets blew past the Roughnecks 13-3. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Mahayla McMahon, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Courtney Nguyen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Mineola has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for White Oak, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-13-1 record this season.

Mineola will have a chance to go back-to-back against White Oak: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
