After two games on the road, Socastee is heading back home. They will take on the Carolina Forest Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Socastee, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 45-26 loss to Conway.
Defeat or not, Socastee got some senior leadership from Anna Reese Pratt and Princess Collins. Pratt dropped a double-double on 11 points and 16 rebounds, while Collins. scored six points along with five steals and three blocks. Pratt hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games.
Meanwhile, Carolina Forest unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 62-32 loss at the hands of Sumter. While losing is never fun, Carolina Forest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Sumter is ranked fourth).
Socastee's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Carolina Forest, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5.
Socastee suffered a grim 44-24 defeat to Carolina Forest in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Socastee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
