After three games on the road, Jefferson is heading back home. They will take on the White Sulphur Springs Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Jefferson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 747 points over their last 11 contests.
Jefferson put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Whitehall/Willow Creek 75-27 on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-14.
MacKenzie Layng was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Toney, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, White Sulphur Springs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They managed a 34-29 win over Manhattan Christian.
Jefferson pushed their record up to 14-1 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for White Sulphur Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
Everything came up roses for Jefferson against the Hornets when the teams last played back in January of 2019 as the team secured a 59-10 victory. With Jefferson ahead 39-2 at the half, the game was all but over already.
