1A Conference 1 recap October 1, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Swain County, who defeated 113th ranked Robbinsville, 27-21. Blake Wright ran for 122 yards during the win.
Adding to the longest winning streak in 1A Conference 1 this week, Murphy beat Rosman 49-22. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Bulldogs.
Hayesville's dynamic duo of Bryce Clappsaddle and Tyler Leek proved to be unstoppable against Cherokee, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Clappsaddle threw for 123 yards and 2 touchdowns and Leek had 50 yards receiving.
Swain County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Maroon Devils feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Ray Smith has thrown for 644 yards and 6 touchdowns this season, while Jordan Cody has 15 catches for 316 yards.
At the moment, the Black Knights are in first, while Andrews is in sixth.
The Yellowjackets took down the Braves 46-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Clappsaddle ran for 17 yards in the win.
