After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Union Pines, the Montgomery Central Timberwolves were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top against Central Academy by a score of 64-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zach Mcdowell, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. Mcdowell has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Michael Hoff was another key contributor, scoring 23 points.
Montgomery Central's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Central Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Montgomery Central will head out on the road to face off against Southern Lee at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Southern Lee will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Central Academy will take on Union Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Union Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Wednesday.
