The Benton Central Bison are taking a road trip to square off against the Covington Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
West Lafayette hit Benton Central with a four-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bison fell 7-3 to the Red Devils. The Bison haven't had much luck with the Red Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Harper Butler put in work no matter where she played. She tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Izabella Bauer made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
Meanwhile, Covington might've scored the first runs on Monday, but it was Riverton Parke who claimed the real prize. The Trojans took a 15-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers.
Lauren Hardy was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Caydence Peaslee, who went 4-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Benton Central suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 10-5. As for Covington, their record is now 12-8.
Benton Central skirted past Covington 7-6 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bison since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
