Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Austin Prep

Austin Prep proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by three) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past the St. Paul's Big Red 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (117-116) Austin Prep actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 28-26, 25-22, 27-29, 19-25, 17-15.

Austin Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Olivia McSorley, who had 20 digs and one assist. Those 20 digs gave McSorley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Quinn McBride, who had four aces and three digs.

Austin Prep's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for St. Paul's, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Austin Prep will host Proctor Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Paul's, they will welcome Milton Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
