Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 15 to 5 on the offensive boards, a fact the Front Range Baptist Falcons proved on Tuesday. They walked away with a 32-25 win over Belleview Christian. The win made it back-to-back wins for Front Range Baptist.
Katie Jaques was her usual excellent self, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals.
When it comes to explaining why Belleview Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Samantha Ortega. Despite the final result, she scored eight points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Ortega has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Harjas Thiara, who scored five points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Front Range Baptist pushed their record up to 4-6 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Belleview Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Front Range Baptist's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lone Star at 5:00 p.m. on January 18th. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Aleighcea Kuntz and Jaques. As for Belleview Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Dawson School at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
