Flagler/Hi-Plains took the matchup and then some with a 59-6 win on Friday over Edison. The success made it back-to-back wins for Flagler/Hi-Plains.
Flagler/Hi-Plains' offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 51 points in the first half. Meanwhile, Edison couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 51-0 heading into the break. The Flagler/Hi-Plains defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the game.
No one put up better numbers for Flagler/Hi-Plains than senior Kyle Klann, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 120 yards and 2 touchdowns. Sophomore Zayd Banks was in the mix, too, providing Flagler/Hi-Plains with 2 touchdowns. The victory bumped their record up to 2-0. The loss started Edison out at 0-1 for the season.
Flagler/Hi-Plains will stay at home next week against Otis at 7:30 PM. Edison will be staying on the road, facing off against Cripple Creek-Victor.
