Seguin extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 9-12. They came up short against the Cleburne Yellowjackets, falling 14-4. The Cougars were not able to make up for their loss to the Yellowjackets from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.
Dariana Martin and Cecilia Razo did some serious damage despite the final result: Martin went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Razo got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Bailee Shedd was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
As for Cleburne, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-15. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by ten runs or more this season.
On Cleburne's side, Eden Treesh spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on four hits.
At the plate, Cleburne got a massive performance out of Kadenze Quzma, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Slovak, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Looking ahead, Seguin will square off against Mansfield Summit at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cleburne, they will challenge Centennial at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Yellowjackets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
