Even though the Lassiter Trojans have not done well against the Sprayberry Yellow Jackets recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Lassiter snuck past the Yellow Jackets with a 64-58 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Lassiter had a senior duo take command as Aidyn Davis scored 21 points along with two blocks and Kyhir Torrence scored 20 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Jay Chege was another key contributor, scoring three points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Lassiter pushed their record up to 18-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Sprayberry, their loss dropped their record down to 16-8.
Lassiter will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Alpharetta will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 138th, while the Trojans are ranked 39th). As for Sprayberry, they will head out on the road to challenge the Gladiators at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Johns Creek is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
