The Wyoming Valley West Spartans will venture away from home to  challenge the Wyoming Area Warriors  at 4:15  p.m.  on Tuesday.
Wyoming Valley West can't be to happy about their upcoming road  game considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home  last Friday. They came up short against  Northwest Area, falling  8-1. The Spartans have struggled against the Rangers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
  Brooke Long made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-3 with one  home run and one  double.
Meanwhile, while Wyoming Area put up plenty of  runs on Saturday, the same  can't be said for Dunmore. Wyoming Area put the hurt on Dunmore with a sharp  13-0 victory. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Warriors.
 Alexa Gasek made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk any time she's  pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with one  home run, five  RBI,  and two  runs. Those  five  RBI gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Allison Layland was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave  her a new career-high in  doubles (two).  Aubrey Lewis was another key player,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-3.
