Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Rancho Christian Eagles, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 38-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hemet on Friday. Rancho Christian's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Rancho Christian's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Blake Nadler, who threw for 324 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt. Fausto Atilano did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 59 receiving yards.
Rancho Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Hemet, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Rancho Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hemet will look to defend their home field on Friday against Elsinore at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Elsinore's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
