The Shadow Mountain Matadors are taking a road trip to face off against the Dysart Demons at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Shadow Mountain is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
On Friday, Shadow Mountain was able to grind out a solid victory over Mingus, taking the game 8-5. Those eight runs were actually the fewest the Matadors have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Lucy Rosenblum spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on five hits.
On the hitting side, Hannah Sheehan was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Abigail Dahl was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Dysart never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Moon Valley on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Rockets 14-13. The win continues a trend for the Demons in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now won three in a row.
Miley Anaya made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Anaya was also solid in the batter's box, earning two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brealynn Briggs, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Mya Sias, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs.
Shadow Mountain's record is now 5-0. As for Dysart, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Shadow Mountain got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Dysart by a conclusive 21-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Matadors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
