Horseshoe Bend has been on the road for two straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Central of Clay County Volunteers at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, Horseshoe Bend really took it to Wadley for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-38 victory on the road. Given Horseshoe Bend's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 169th, while Wadley is ranked 385th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Central of Clay County blew past Randolph County, posting a 54-26 victory on the road.
Nariah Brock was her usual excellent self, scoring 14 points. Another player making a difference was Ashanti Smith, who scored ten points.
Horseshoe Bend has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Central of Clay County, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Horseshoe Bend might still be hurting after the 66-44 loss they got from Central of Clay County when the teams last played back in November. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Central of Clay County's Ramyah Billingsley, who scored 15 points.
