The Coeur du Christ Academy Saints had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against Immaculate Conception Academy by a score of 65-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Immaculate Conception Academy still got an impressive performance from Dominic Wilhelm, who scored 31 points along with eight rebounds. Wilhelm scored a full 54.4% of Immaculate Conception Academy's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Michael Wilhelm, who scored 16 points.
Coeur du Christ Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Immaculate Conception Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coeur du Christ Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. John Bosco Academy at 12:00 p.m. on December 29th.
