Berne Union couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by Nelsonville-York 68-33 on Friday. Berne Union was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-12.
Meanwhile, Bishop Rosecrans had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a serious blow against Maysville, falling 72-38. Bishop Rosecrans found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post nine fewer assists than your opponent.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tyler Burnett, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Grady Labishak, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds.
Berne Union's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Bishop Rosecrans, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 0-1.
Berne Union couldn't quite finish off Bishop Rosecrans in their previous matchup back in January and fell 53-51. Can Berne Union avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
