The Padua Franciscan Bruins will be playing at home against the Lake Catholic Cougars at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Padua Franciscan unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They received a tough blow as they fell 71-54 to Walsh Jesuit.
Padua Franciscan's defeat came about despite a quality game from Riley Cervenka, who scored 23 points along with two steals. Cervenka is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Manny Santiago, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Lake Catholic pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 67-56 to Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin. Lake Catholic has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Padua Franciscan now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Lake Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Padua Franciscan came out on top in a nail-biter against Lake Catholic in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, sneaking past 61-58. Does Padua Franciscan have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lake Catholic turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
