Richland Northeast is 1-9 against the Blazers since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Richland Northeast Cavaliers will head out on the road to face off against the Ridge View Blazers at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Richland Northeast was able to grind out a solid win over the Demons, taking the game 50-41. The win was just what Richland Northeast needed coming off of a 64-42 loss in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Richland Northeast to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sasha Cebula, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Cebula hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Lujain Jallab, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Ridge View entered their tilt with the Redhawks with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Ridge View came out on top against the Redhawks by a score of 49-39 on Friday.
Ridge View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sian Banks, who scored eight points along with six steals and five assists. Destiny Drakeford was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds and four blocks.
Richland Northeast's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11. As for Ridge View, they pushed their record up to 16-8 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Richland Northeast suffered a grim 52-26 defeat to the Blazers in their previous meeting back in January. Can Richland Northeast avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
