Holly is 4-0 against La Veta since June of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Thursday.  In what's become a running theme this season, Holly gave their fans yet another huge  win on Friday. They put the hurt on Granada with a sharp  16-6 victory.
  Nick Vazquez and  Reuben Maldonado made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing,  Vazquez   tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. Meanwhile,  Maldonado   pitched five innings while giving up just two earned  (and three unearned) runs off   six  hits. Vazquez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in three consecutive pitching appearances. At bat,  Vazquez  got on base  in all six of his plate appearances with two  stolen bases, four  RBI,  and a  run, while  Maldonado  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-5.
 In other batting news,  Andre Salgado was  incredible,  scoring five  runs and  stealing eight bases while  getting on base  in all six of his plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  stolen  at least one in the last four games he's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Francisco Saenz, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 2-for-2.
 Meanwhile, La Veta was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight  loss. They suffered a  rough 11-1 defeat at the hands of Eads. Having soared to a lofty 15  runs in the game before, La Veta couldn't push the score so high this time.
 La Veta saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Derek James, who  went 1-for-1 with a  double.
 Holly is  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last seven contests,  which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record  this season. As for La Veta, they now  have a losing record at 6-7.
 The pitchers for both teams better look sharp  on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Holly has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 6.5  stolen bases per game. However, it's not like La Veta struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 5.5. The only question left is which team can snag more.
 Holly took their  win against La Veta  when the teams last played  back in March of 2023 by a conclusive  13-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Holly since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
