The West Jefferson Roughriders lost against the Fairbanks Panthers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. West Jefferson fell to Fairbanks 40-36. West Jefferson has not had much luck with Fairbanks recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fairbanks to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rachael Hoover, who scored 7 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Reese Poling, who scored 7 points along with 6 steals.
West Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Fairbanks, their win bumped their record up to 1-2.
West Jefferson will head out on the road to face off against West Liberty-Salem at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Fairbanks, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Mechanicsburg at 7:30 p.m.
