Falls Church is a perfect 5-0 against Mount Vernon since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Jaguars will head out on the road to take on the Majors at 7:15 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Falls Church and four for Mount Vernon.

Falls Church fell victim to Justice and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against Wolves, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Mount Vernon came up short against Hayfield on Tuesday and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, Mount Vernon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 311th, while Hayfield are ranked 135th).

Mount Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Falls Church, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Falls Church came out on top in a nail-biter against Mount Vernon in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
