The Bethune Bobcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their tenth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 62-20 loss at the hands of Idalia. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bethune has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Bethune lost, one person who can't be blamed is Wyatt King. Despite the final result, he scored six points.
It was another big night for Kale Morris, who scored 16 points along with three steals for Idalia. Morris hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Gabe Kechter was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Bethune dropped their record down to 1-12 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.1 points per game. As for Idalia, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bethune will face off against the Warriors at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Weldon Valley is ranked 331st, while the Bobcats are ranked 343rd). As for Idalia, they will head out on the road to take on the Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Kit Carson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Friday.
