The Central Cabarrus Vikings put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 87-42 victory over Mount Pleasant. Considering Central Cabarrus has won nine games by more than 20 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central Cabarrus to victory, but perhaps none more so than Desmond Kent Jr., who scored 16 points along with four steals. The match was Kent Jr.'s tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Carson Daniel, who scored seven points along with seven assists and seven steals.
Central Cabarrus' victory was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 89.8 points per game. As for Mount Pleasant, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Central Cabarrus won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Charlotte Catholic at 8:30 p.m. on December 29th. Charlotte Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 47th, while Central Cabarrus is ranked tenth).
