Basketball Recap: Baker Gets the Win

While Baker's win against Williamson wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hornets narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Lions 34-32. Those 34 points were actually the fewest the Hornets have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Williamson's loss on Thursday came despite strong showings from Paydon Davis and Blessin Lane. Davis went 6-for-12 to rack up 20 points and four blocks, while Lane posted four points. Davis is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 11 games she's played dating back to last season.

Baker's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Williamson, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Baker will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Vigor at 6:00 p.m. on December 2. As for Williamson, they and Baldwin County will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played.
