South Davidson hasn't had much luck against South Stokes recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will welcome the Sauras at 5:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.
South Davidson headed into their last game having not scored more than two runs for four straight, but Lexington Senior let them put that streak behind them. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 28-8 margin over the Yellowjackets on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Dalin Johnson, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, five stolen bases, and nine RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in runs (four). Ethan Peele was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
South Davidson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .698. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, South Stokes won against North Stokes on Friday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Sauras never let South Davidson get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The Sauras might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by ten runs or more this season.
Reid Tilley was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Tilley is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiptyn Middleton, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.
South Stokes' victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for South Davidson, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. South Davidson has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like South Stokes struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
South Davidson might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from South Stokes in their previous matchup on Tuesday. Will the Wildcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
