Olympic is a perfect 10-0 against North Mason since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Trojans will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 4:15 p.m. Olympic is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
Olympic's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Kingston 6-0. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.
Not much got past Brenda Morrison, who gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Kingston off the board. Morrison has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kennedy Haas, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Evee Abbay, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Olympic hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, North Mason fell victim to Port Angeles and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Roughriders. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Roughriders recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.
Taylor Madison was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one double.
Olympic's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games. As for North Mason, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7-1.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Olympic has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .484. However, it's not like North Mason struggles in that department as they've averaged .481. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Olympic took their win against North Mason in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 14-0 score. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
