The Dorchester Academy Raiders and the Colleton Prep Academy War Hawks, after both having extra time off, will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Dorchester Academy barely beat Orangeburg Prep the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Raiders were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Indians last Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Raiders as they're now sitting on four straight.
Molly Blanchard was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Blanchard was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Lily Canady was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Lyla Owens, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Dorchester Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Colleton Prep Academy got themselves on the board against Cross two weeks ago, but Cross never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over the Cross Schools. The War Hawks haven't had any issues with the Cross Schools recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Dorchester Academy's record now sits at 8-5. As for Colleton Prep Academy, their record is now 4-1.
Dorchester Academy came up short against Colleton Prep Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, falling 8-3. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
