6A District 13 recap November 19, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 6A District 13 this week, Naples beat Bayside 49-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Golden Eagles.
Naples moved up to 42 from 76 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Bill Kramer's team was able to move up by topping the Bears 49-7.
The Golden Eagles' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Garrett Zech chipped in 76 yards.
Zech was a passing and rushing force as Naples topped Bayside.
Grant Phillips was the best wideout in the league this week as the Golden Eagles beat Jerrod Ackley's team. Phillips racked up 1 reception for 16 yards.
6-foot-4 quarterback Cody Long of Estero is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,668. He has also thrown 12 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Tony Lesende. The Palmetto Ridge star has 30 catches for 613 yards.
Max Joseph of the Naples is only 99 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Joseph has rushed for 901 yards on 101 carries so far this year.
The Wildcats fell to the Panthers 49-3 last week, the largest margin of any game.
