Softball Recap: Knox Has No Trouble Against Laville

Knox won the last time they faced LaVille and things went their way on Thursday too. The Redskins put the hurt on the Lancers with a sharp 15-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Redskins, who have now won six games by eight runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Bethany Barnes, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Addison Sponaugle was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Knox always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as LaVille only posted an OBP of .391.

The victory made it two in a row for Knox and bumps their season record up to 8-11. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for LaVille, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Knox will head out to challenge West Central at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for LaVille, they will venture away from home to take on Rochester at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
