Even though the Mabel-Canton Cougars have not done well against the Lanesboro Burros recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Mabel-Canton walked away with a 90-83 win over Lanesboro. The victory was nothing new for Mabel-Canton as they're now sitting on four straight.
Mabel-Canton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cayden Tollefsrud out in front who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 rebounds. Tollefsrud is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 20 every time he's taken the court this season. Riley Snell was another key contributor, shooting 4-for-7 from long range and almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine assists.
The win got Mabel-Canton back to even at 10-10. As for Lanesboro, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mabel-Canton won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Spring Grove at 7:15 p.m. on February 6th. Mabel-Canton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,055 points over their last 15 matches. As for Lanesboro, they will head out on the road to square off against Houston at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Houston focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
