A Season-Best Effort from Tommy Acosta Leads Capistrano Valley over Trabuco Hills
On Friday, Capistrano Valley got the W thanks in part to Tommy Acosta playing the best football he has all season. Acosta rushed for 106 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 240 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.3% of his passes. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played dating back to last season.

Eimesse Essis' Rushing Yards a New Career-High
On Thursday, Tustin got the W thanks in part to Eimesse Essis playing the best football he has all season. Essis rushed for 293 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 182 or more in the last four games he's played dating back to last season.
Tustin pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Essis and Tustin are on the road again on Friday to play Western at 7:00 p.m.

Xzavior Guess Delivers Electric Performance Vs Tustin
While Xzavior Guess delivered a dominant effort on Thursday, a win just wasn't in the cards for El Modena. Guess was dynamite, rushing for 80 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 188 yards and two touchdowns. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 61 yards.
With the loss, El Modena broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-1. Guess will have a chance to log another big game when he takes on Capistrano Valley on Friday.

Tristan Zale Dazzles in Trabuco Hills Defeat
Trabuco Hills had to settle for second on Friday, but Tristan Zale sure wasn't going down easily. Zale was dynamite, throwing for 351 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground.
Zale and Trabuco Hills will stay at home for another week and welcome Cypress at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The match will pit Zale up against the Centurions' star signal caller Xavier Guerrero. So who wins this QB-duel? There's only one way to know for sure.
