Butte View recap September 10, 2013
Orland's Tyler Batchelder rumbled for the longest rushing play in Butte View this season in his game against Anderson last week. Batchelder's team defeated the Cubs as he sprinted for 58 yards on the play and finished with 143 in all.
Fans got a thrill when Randy Post and Tyjuan Prince connected against Cottage Grove. The connection went for 60 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.
Kavi Ram was the best wideout in the league this week as Orland bested Anderson. Ram tallied 6 receptions for 102 yards.
Jacob Lowrie was the best running back in Butte View this week. He ran for 171 yards on 14 carries as Winters topped Scott Edwards' team. Chaz Mathews also contributed to the rushing game with 126 yards on the ground.
Lowrie was a passing and rushing force as the Warriors defeated Esparto. Lowrie's favorite target this week was Trevor Ray, who caught 3 passes for 58 yards.
Post put up the best numbers through the air as Sutter bested the Lions. He finished with 9 completions for 287 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Kaleb Meder was a key player and the best on defense this week as Wheatland beat Lindhurst. The 6-foot-3 sophomore grabbed 2.0 sacks.
The Huskies' Post and Brad Bonnenfant have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Post has thrown for 414 yards this season, while Bonnenfant has 5 catches for 143 yards. Lowrie from Winters leads the league in rushing with 171 yards.
The Trojans moved up to 310 from 405 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Orland climbed the ranks as a result of defeating the Cubs 42-3.
