Softball Recap: Make It Eight in a Row for Loving

Loving came tearing into Tuesday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.1 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Eunice Cardinals as they made off with an 11-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Braylee Hunt made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last ten games. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Loving let Brooklynn Marler and Adryanna Nieto run wild. Marler went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one double, while Nieto got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. That's the most hits Marler has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Maliah Rodriguez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Loving hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive contests.

Loving's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Eunice, they dropped their record down to 6-8 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Loving will face off against Jal at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 10.3 runs per game this season. As for Eunice, they will square off against Capitan at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
