Ritenour might have drawn first blood against Lafayette on Thursday, but it was Lafayette who got the last laugh. Ritenour had victory within their grasp but couldn't quite capture it as the squad lost 27-28 to Lafayette. Things were expected to be close, but in this case the state rankings mixed up the winning team.
The loss dropped Ritenour's record to 1-2. The win bumped Lafayette's record up to 1-2.
Next week Ritenour take on Poplar Bluff at 7:00 PM. Lafayette will be staying on the road, facing off against Eureka.
