Aquinas extended the longest winning streak in A Region 7 this week by beating Twiggs County, 50-8. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Fightin' Irish.
Hancock Central moved up to 127 from 190 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 26-0 win over Warren County helped the Bulldogs improve their standing.
First Presbyterian Day's dynamic duo of Brooks Stroud and Scott McCormick proved tough for Lincoln County to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Stroud threw for 150 yards and two touchdowns and McCormick had 86 yards receiving. Joseph Lengel helped First Presbyterian Day's passing attack out by catching one ball for 34 yards.
Brendan Douglas was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 245 yards on 11 carries as Aquinas lost to the Red Devils. Teammate Ruben Garnett added to the ground attack by rushing for 65 yards.
First Presbyterian Day's Stroud and McCormick have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading A Region 7 in both passing and receiving yards. Stroud has thrown for 509 yards this season, while McCormick, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 12 catches for 332 yards. Hancock Central's Deonte Franklin leads the league in rushing yards with 486.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Aquinas takes on second place Hancock Central. Last week, Matt LeZotte's team beat the Cobras, while Zackery Harris's team topped the Screaming Devils.
Wilkinson County took down Georgia Military College 56-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.
