The New Palestine Dragons had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.9 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They blew past New Castle 63-0 at home. The result was nothing new for New Palestine, who have now won six contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
New Palestine got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Grayson Thomas out in front who rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Thomas is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last nine games he's played. Kyler Kropp was another key contributor, gaining 107 total yards and two touchdowns.
New Palestine's victory was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-2. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32 points. As for New Castle, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
New Palestine will be playing in front of their home fans against Greenfield-Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Greenfield-Central is ranked 26th, while New Palestine is ranked 19th). New Castle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
