Basketball Recap: Providence Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Elliott Stafford and Emma Fuller

Providence was the 49-34 winner over Cox Mill when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Providence Panthers took a hard 44-27 fall against the Cox Mill Chargers on Saturday. The Panthers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Providence's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Emma Fuller, who posted four points in addition to 12 rebounds and three blocks, and Elliott Stafford, who put up nine points and three steals. Fuller has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last three times she's played.

Lauren Farrell was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds for Cox Mill. What's more, Farrell also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rachel Betz, who had 12 points.

Providence's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Cox Mill, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-7.

Providence wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 49-30 defeat against Charlotte Latin on the 30th. As for Cox Mill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-34 loss against Porter Ridge on the 30th.
