Hailey Brennan and Grace Brooks were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Brennan pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Brooks struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Brennan has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit any time she's pitched this season. At the plate, Brennan went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run, while Brooks scored a run while going 2-for-4. Those three doubles gave Brennan a new career-high.
In other batting news, Haiylee Reeves was a standout: she fired off two home runs, five runs, and seven RBI while going 4-for-4. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Sobella Malliarodakis was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, three doubles, and two runs.
Owyhee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jerome only posted an OBP of .200.
Meanwhile, Idaho Falls won against Burley on Wednesday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. Idaho Falls was the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over Burley. The Tigers not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27, 2024.
Owyhee pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Idaho Falls, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.
Everything went Owyhee's way against Idaho Falls in their previous matchup back in March of 2022, as Owyhee made off with a 14-4 victory. Will Owyhee repeat their success, or does Idaho Falls have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
