Windham has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Griswold Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
On Wednesday, Windham came up short against New London and fell 59-48. Windham has not had much luck with New London recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Jaelize Rivera put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 19 points along with five assists and five rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Hailey Flores, who scored six points along with six assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, Griswold also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Killingly by a score of 58-50.
Windham's loss ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-4. As for Griswold, they dropped their record down to 5-13 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Windham against Griswold in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 62-19 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Windham since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
