Burrillville has been on the road for three straight, but on November 23rd they'll finally head home. After each having a week off, the Burrillville Broncos and the Ponaganset Chieftains will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for Burrillville, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They suffered a rough 41-19 defeat at the hands of Cumberland on Friday. Burrillville has not had much luck with Cumberland recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Burrillville got a solid performance out of Leland Kelleher, who rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Meanwhile, Ponaganset faced Tolman in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Ponaganset managed a 26-22 win over Tolman on Thursday.
Trevor Lytle was the offensive standout of the matchup as he picked up 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Burrillville's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Ponaganset, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Burrillville strolled past Ponaganset in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 by a score of 21-7. Will Burrillville repeat their success, or does Ponaganset have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
