Softball Recap: Tehachapi Has No Trouble Against Foothill

Tehachapi had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Foothill on Thursday. The Tehachapi Warriors put the hurt on the Foothill Trojans with a sharp 16-6 win. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won five in a row.

Aidan McIrvin made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. McIrvin was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Tehachapi let Mya Gil and Kayden Grigsby run wild. Gil scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-4, while Grigsby went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Gil also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Averianna Porter, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Tehachapi pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Foothill, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.
