It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 41-13, which was the final score in Worthington Kilbourne's tilt against Westerville North on Friday. While losing is never fun, Worthington Kilbourne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 488th, while Westerville North is ranked 105th).
Meanwhile, Westerville South got the win against Franklin Heights on Friday by a conclusive 37-13. The victory was just what Westerville South needed coming off of a 35-14 loss in their prior contest.
Phillips, Nasir and Gordon, Ian were among the main playmakers for Westerville South as the former rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries and the latter rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries.
Worthington Kilbourne's defeat was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 11-2 Westerville South and 11-2 Westerville South (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 57.4% over those games). As for Westerville South, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Worthington Kilbourne was taken down by Westerville South 34-7 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Worthington Kilbourne have more luck at home instead of on the road?
