 Nokomis can attribute much of their success to   Jayden Hood, who  had 13  digs and four  aces, and   Rayonna White, who  had three  aces. That high mark didn't come from nowhere:  Hood now  served four or more in the last six games she's  played.
 Nokomis  was lethal from the service line and  finished the game with 19  aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  served at least eight  aces in six consecutive  games.
 Meanwhile, Gardiner faced Cony in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Gardiner narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  team sidled past Cony  3-2. The  win was familiar territory for the Tigers who have now won five  matches in a row.
 Nokomis' victory  ended  a  five-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 3-3. As for Gardiner, their win was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 5-1.
 Nokomis suffered a grim  3-0 defeat to Gardiner  in their previous matchup  back in October of 2023. Can Nokomis avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
