After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Liberty, Freedom was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Deer Valley Wolverines as they made off with a 23-1 victory. Considering the Falcons have won seven matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Freedom got a great performance from Jaclyn Graves as she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave Graves a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Jaiden Proctor was incredible, firing off three home runs, eight RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Katelyn Slagle also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Freedom kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 25 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Freedom has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-9-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Deer Valley, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-15.
